Here at Rael, we're all about empowering women, not just with natural and effective self-care solutions but also in all life areas. When we support and uplift one another, we are stronger and more confident as individuals and as a collective. So to celebrate our sacred sisterhood, below, we've rounded up a few easy ways you can do your part for womankind on a day-to-day basis.
Help a woman IRL
You don't have to move mountains to make an impact on womankind. A simple act of kindness supporting a woman you know in real life can make all the difference. Whether it's calling a friend to see how she’s doing, babysitting for a new mom so she can take a few hours to herself, or cooking a homemade meal for them, no gesture is too small. It is especially important to offer to lend a hand to the superwoman that always seems to have it all together because you never know what someone may be struggling with under the surface.
Support a women's charity
There are so many women in need. Find a charity that you're passionate about and donate your time, energy, or resources. At Rael, we've partnered with a charity called I Support The Girls in honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month in October to create three-month emergency kits for domestic violence victims. Many domestic violence victims are suffering more during the pandemic because they're stuck at home with their abusers who often withhold period products, making it harder for them to leave. If you feel called, visit isupportthegirls.org to donate or help raise awareness by sharing about it on social media.
The 2020 election is just weeks away, and your vote has never been more important. A woman's right to vote is something previous generations fought for, and it is our responsibility to use that power to help create the world we want to see. Our democracy depends on it. Be sure you are registered if you're not already—your vote and voice matters.
Collaborate instead of compete
Setting the intention to collaborate and uplift one another instead of competing sets us all up to win. Round up the women in your life and start brainstorming ways you can join forces. When we share our brilliance to support one another, amazing things happen. Watch out world.
Permit yourself to shine
One of the simplest things you can do to support womankind is permitting yourself to step into your power, share your gifts, and shine. As we liberate ourselves from our fears and do the things our hearts are calling us to do, we inspire other women to do the same. Life is too short, friends. This is your time. Let yourself be shiny.
Give heartfelt compliments
Nice words from a friend, family member, co-worker, or even a stranger can really brighten up your day. Get in the mindset of giving and make it a habit to compliment the women in your life and go beyond just physical appearance. Compliment them on their magnetic energy, charisma, tenacity, genius, or courage. These are the compliments that often mean the most. And if you're on the receiving end of the compliment, don't brush it under the rug. Joyfully accept it.
Support women-founded businesses
Where you put your dollars makes a difference. Support womankind by supporting businesses run by women, whether that means purchasing their products or services, recommending them to a friend, or giving them a shout out on social media. Rael, for example, was founded by three-female co-founders on a mission to create safe and effective period and self-care products for women.
Talk about periods
Speaking of periods, helping to normalize the conversation around menstruation is another way you can empower women. Menstruation is a completely natural process, but we've been conditioned to feel fear, shame, or embarrassment about it. That needs to end. Do your part by talking openly about periods with friends, family, and especially young girls. It's our responsibility to break the cycle for the next generation.
Create safe spaces for women
Life often comes with many challenges, and one thing that can really support women in navigating those times is a safe container where they can take up space, share their feelings, and feel validated and seen without any judgment. Do your part to uplift the women in your life by providing a safe space where they feel completely supported, whether that means starting a weekly women's circle or simply a group chat between friends where you can each share what's going on and offer emotional support.
